Abstract

Brain gym is believed to enhance children's cognitive abilities, including concentration, which is crucial for academic success. This study aims to evaluate the effect of brain gym exercises on the concentration levels of children aged 6–10 years at Klinik Yamet Batam Tiban. The research involved 19 participants who underwent 12 sessions of brain gym exercises over one month, conducted three times a week. Concentration levels before and after the intervention were measured using the Stroop test. Respondents’ demographic characteristics were obtained through interviews with parents. The results showed significant improvements: before the intervention, 21.1% of participants had low concentration, whereas after the intervention, none fell into this category, with 59% demonstrating good concentration. Statistical analysis using the Paired Samples Test indicated a significant effect of brain gym exercises on increasing concentration levels. In conclusion, brain gym is an effective and practical intervention to enhance children's concentration, particularly in educational settings.
