Abstract

An ineffective patient registration process can hinder the smooth delivery of healthcare services and reduce patient satisfaction. Based on observations and interviews, issues were identified in the medical records unit, one of which was the low efficiency of the patient registration process. This condition indicates the need for procedural improvements accompanied by staff assistance. This community service activity aimed to improve the efficiency of outpatient registration through the socialization and assistance in implementing a redesigned Standard Operating Procedure. The method included socialization to registration staff, direct assistance over four days, and compliance evaluation using a checklist containing procedural steps. The activity involved 56 returning patients and 44 new patients as samples. The evaluation results showed that staff compliance reached 100% for both Standard Operating Procedure types, indicating that the new procedures were easy to understand and implement. Socialization combined with assistance proved effective in increasing staff understanding and compliance, making it a suitable standard reference for improving the quality of clinic services.
